Since 2004, the Health and New Life Foundation has been developing activities to “rescue the ancestral or traditional medicine of our ancestors…” In this context, the Foundation's Council, with the support of the Council of the Peoples of the South, an affiliate of Sacred Fire of Itsachilatlan International, invites you to experience the vision quest which will take place from July 25th to Sunday, August 9th, on our sacred mountain of Puglla, blessed by the chief of chiefs, Aurelio Díaz Tekpankalli, and the taitas, the medicine women of Saraguro. All the peoples of the world have created spaces of retreat to purify their mind, body, and spirit. As Black Elk says, there are many reasons to retreat to the mountaintop: “Some have had visions as children, unexpectedly; in this case, they will implore to understand them better… Sometimes one implores to ask a favor of the Great Spirit, such as the healing of a relative; also to thank the Great Spirit for a gift bestowed upon us. But the most important reason to implore is, without a doubt, that it helps us realize our unity with all things, to understand that all things are our relatives, and then, in His name, we beg the Great Spirit to give us knowledge of the Self, He who is the source of all and who is greater than all” (p. 65). Therefore, we call upon all leaders, elders, shamans, healers, students of sacred medicine, and the people in general from all four directions to participate in our fourth A quest for vision, firstly, to elevate our prayer for balance, restoration, and care for our Pachamama. Secondly, to dream and reactivate our ancestral memory. Thirdly, to unlearn elements that bind us and prevent us from being who we truly are
